Installation for rubbish cans and television screens

"In my work I explore temporary materials such as cast sugar and frozen wine for creating sculptures. I then document my time-based sculptures with (moving) film; the films are later manipulated and used as part of other sculptures. The 'soundtracks' are formed using found sounds from the exhibition spaces."

Canadian born artist Erica Stanga works with a wide variety of materials from metal to frozen wine to film. She has exhibited her work throughout North America and Europe and has three commissioned public monuments in New Jersey, USA. The inspiration for her sculptures arrive from an interest in self-sufficiency, superstition, archeology and the natural world.
